Supporting Middle School Success
The Study Friends program is designed to help middle school students excel academically and gain confidence in the classroom. By pairing students with trained adult volunteer tutors, Study Friends provides personalized support for homework, reading, writing, and math.
How It Works
Who Can Participate: Middle school students referred by their teacher or school counselor.
What It Includes: One-on-one tutoring sessions for 1–2 hours per week, excluding school holidays. Weekly math tutorials are also available at the Avon and Gypsum Libraries for students in grades 6–8.
How Students Are Matched: The Literacy Project matches students and tutors based on schedules, interests, and academic needs.

Eligibility Requirements
Students must complete the Study Friends Teacher Referral Form and schedule a meeting with the program coordinator. Forms are available as an online submission or as a downloadable PDF.
