MEET AKI
Aki has been taking Adult ESL classes and working with a volunteer tutor for two years. She shares the benefit and value of having access to FREE literacy resources that she would never have access to in her home country of Japan. With your help, The Literacy Project has changed Aki’s life.
2019 ANNUAL REPORT
Thank you for entrusting The Literacy Project to close the literacy gap in Eagle County. With you, we are making a difference—our students continue to report increased reading frequency and newfound language skills. As we look back on the past 30 years, we have seen so much growth, many new initiatives and so many working hard to gain a better life. I see confidence in parents helping their children with reading and adults with the support of a volunteer tutor excited with the challenge of learning something new.
With proven tools for teaching reading fluency, comprehension and English as a Second Language, we know how to solve the illiteracy crisis. We just need the capital to do it. Let’s reverse the notion that the end to these challenges is impossible. Literacy’s power is to bring people together, create opportunity and transform lives.
With your engaged support, we will continue our important work to share the power of learning through education, community building and advocacy. Read our 2019 Annual Report here. For the best experience, make sure to click the full screen icon in the lower right hand corner of the playback screen.
