The Literacy Project empowers adult learners of all levels across the Vail Valley with the tools to improve their communication skills, grow confidence, and foster community relationships.
ADULT LITERACY classes: Building Skills and Connections
Adult English speakers who read below an 8th grade level with practical goals like getting a job, earning a driver’s license, or helping children with homework. A long-term goal might be to earn a GED.
Free English classes each week, except for holidays. Additional classes are possible upon request.

Adult Basic Literacy: Personalized Tutoring for Practical Goals
This program pairs adult English speakers reading below an 8th-grade level with volunteer tutors for one-on-one sessions focused on achieving real-world objectives, such as preparing for a GED, earning a driver’s license, or supporting their children’s education.
