ResourcesReading Buddies Grades 1 – 3 Students
Reading Buddies is a partnership between The Literacy Project and the Eagle Valley Public Libraries, where teens in grades 9-12 from local area high schools are matched with a Little Buddy in grades 1, 2 or 3. Buddy pairs read together, play reading-based games, and participate in group activities. The purpose of Reading Buddies is to provide a leadership, responsibility, and community service opportunities,s with high school mentors helping to foster a love of reading in elementary school students.
You can participate in Reading Buddies at either the Avon, Eagle, or Gypsum libraries. Our sessions meet once a week for 8 weeks.
To become a part of Reading Buddies, please fill out the application below and return the completed application to the Avon, Eagle, or Gypsum Public Library. Space is limited so please turn in your applications as soon as possible. Most programs fill up well before the application deadline.
