April is Financial Literacy Month

Dear Readers,

Spring is officially here! And with it comes a unique learning opportunity for our Literacy Project community. Did you know that April is Financial Literacy Month? In celebration throughout the month, The Literacy Project will be sharing tips to help our volunteers and students discuss financial management via our Facebook Page. If you haven’t “liked” our Facebook page yet, please do so: www.facebook.com/theliteracyproject.

Here at The Literacy Project, our goal is to help our students read well, speak well, and live well. Now, more than ever, Financial Literacy is a vital component to the success of not just our students, but our entire Literacy Project community. According to the President’s Advisory Council on Financial Literacy, Financial literacy is “the ability to use knowledge and skills to manage financial resources effectively for a lifetime of financial well-being.”

Please join me this month as our volunteers and students open the discussion on personal budgeting, expenses, and financial literacy learning.
